Precision metal stamping is a high-volume manufacturing process that forms sheet or coil metal into finished parts using hardened tooling in a mechanical press. Material is fed continuously and cut, bent, coined, or drawn across sequential die stations until the part is complete. Precision stamping is distinguished from conventional stamping by the tolerances it holds — commonly ±0.0005 in. on critical features, and as tight as ±0.0002 in. on qualified ones — and by in-die secondary operations such as tapping, welding, and insertion. It is used where part geometry is fixed, annual volumes exceed roughly 100,000 pieces, and unit cost, repeatability, and dimensional stability matter more than tooling flexibility.

Four-Slide Stamping

Four rams strike the workpiece from four directions in sequence, forming wire and flat strip into complex bent geometries in a single cycle. Best for clips, springs, brackets, and formed terminals where the part wraps back on itself.

Multi-Slide Stamping

Adds auxiliary slides and cam-driven tooling stations beyond the standard four, allowing more forming steps per cycle. Used for parts with tight internal radii, multiple bend planes, or in-line assembly of two components.
